Comfort

You decide how the visit goes

Nothing here needs a reason. Ask for it, and we do it.

Dr. Aiyar and her team stay with you the whole visit. Nallely sits beside the chair and watches for your signal. Before we begin, you choose it, we write it in your chart, and every person on the team knows it. When you use it, hands come out of your mouth and the instruments go down.

Always on offer

  • A hand signal, agreed before we begin

  • Breaks, as many as you want

  • Headphones, a blanket, a dimmer light

  • Every step named, or none

A calm waiting area with two armchairs, a wood slat wall and a plant

What we offer

Which kinds of sedation we offer, and where we send you

Dr. Aiyar offers local numbing and nitrous oxide. Anything stronger is done elsewhere, by someone with the permit and the monitoring it takes.

Referrals

If you need more than we offer

You don't lose your dentist. We send you out for the one thing and take you back for the rest.

  1. 01

    Step 1: You tell us

Say so at any point, including at the first visit. Dr. Aiyar won't push you either way.

  2. 02

Step 2: She suggests a place

She names an oral surgeon or a dentist who offers the kind of sedation you need, and explains why.

  3. 03

Step 3: We send your records

With your permission we send what they need, so you don't repeat yourself.

  4. 04

Step 4: You come back to us

Cleanings, fillings and checkups stay here, with your signal.

At any visit

Seven small things people ask for

Headphones

Bring your own or borrow ours. We tap your shoulder or lift a hand when we need you.

A blanket and neck pillow

Warmth helps some people relax, and a pillow helps with a stiff neck.

The lamp instead of the bright light

We can dim the room and use a lamp. Tell us what you'd like.

Instruments shown first

Some people want to hold a mirror or see the tool before it is used. Ask, and we show you.

A friend in the room

A friend or relative can sit with you, or wait outside.

A morning slot

Ask for the first appointment of the day so you aren't waiting.

A short visit

We can split a visit into two, so you do half and go home.

Questions about comfort

What if I get upset in the middle?

Use your signal. We stop and you can sit up, breathe, or leave. Many people cry or shake at the dentist, and nobody on the team is surprised.

Will you judge my teeth?

No. Dr. Aiyar has seen mouths that haven't been looked at in years. She tells you what she sees and what the options are.

Can I leave in the middle?

Yes. You can stop and go at any time, and we will plan the next visit around what happened.

Do you offer sedation?

We offer nitrous oxide, with Dr. Aiyar giving it and Nallely monitoring your breathing and how you feel. We don't offer IV sedation, sedation pills or general anesthesia.

Tell us what would help

Put it in your request, or tell Symone on the phone. We will have the room ready.
